Esmond, son and heir to Thomas Plunket kt, and Marion his late wife, dcd, who held of the K. in chief on the days on which they died, has shown that Thomas, late tenant by the law of Eng. as in right of Marion and in his own right, died seised of the manors or lordships of Kilsallaghan and Rathmore, with the appurtenances, and of various other castles, manors or lordships, lands, tenements, rents, services, patronages and advowsons of churches, and other possessions and hereditaments, with the appurtenances, as well in his demesne as of freehold as tenant by the law of Eng., and in his demesne as of fee as in his demesne as of fee tail, in cos. Dublin, Meath, Kildare and Louth, which came into the K.’s hand by reason of Thomas’s death, and therein still remain. And Esmond is aged 24 years and more, as by inspection of the body of Esmond plainly appears; and he has requested that the K. would extend his royal grace on his behalf. The K., bearing in mind the good and acceptable service that Esmond, according to his ability, has in various matters afforded the K., and being willing to grant him special grace the K. has thought proper that his hands, and all right and interest that he has or may have in the castles, manors, lordships, lands, tenements, rents, services, patronages and advowsons of churches, and other possessions and hereditaments, with the appurtenances, and in every parcel of them, with the appurtenances, should be entirely removed; and the K. has given back the same to Esmond, and by the tenor of these presents has restored him to the same. And moreover, the K. has granted and given to Esmond, that he into all the castles, manors, lands, tenements, rents, services, patronages and advowsons of churches, hereditaments and other possessions whatsoever, with the appurtenances, may enter, without any prosecution or process in this respect to be sued or prosecuted, and them all and singular, with all liberties, customs, profits [and] commodities, may have and hold fully, peaceably and quietly, as freely and entirely as Thomas and Marion, or any of their ancestors had and held them, or as if Esmond had obtained and prosecuted them out of the K.’s hands by due process of law, according to the custom of the land, without any hindrance, molestation or impediment whatsoever of the K. or his heirs, or of any ministers, officers or ministers of the K. whomsoever. And moreover, the K. has pardoned, remitted, and released to Esmond all manner of debts and accounts and arrears of debts and accounts, fines, issues and amercements whatsoever, and all kinds of intrusions and abatements, unlawful entries, undue liveries, alienations without the K.’s licence, and reprises of estates, reliefs, royal services, and arrears of royal services, in and of the castles, manors or lordships, lands, tenements, rents, services, patronages and advowsons of churches and other possessions and hereditaments, with the appurtenances, by Esmond, Thomas and Marion, or any other tertenant, occupier or possessor thereof, to the K. in any manner due belonging or pertaining, or by them or any of them done, had, prosecuted, levied or received. And moreover the K. wills and grants that this livery made in said manner to Esmond be of such force and effect to Esmond and his heirs as the due [and] lawful livery according to the course of the common law of the land would be to him of the same castles, manors or lordships, lands, tenements, rents, services, patronages and advowsons of churches, and other possessions and hereditaments with the appurtenances, and every parcel thereof with the appurtenances, by Esmond had or prosecuted. Any statute, act, ordinance, provision or custom to the contrary of the premises, done, had, used or ordained, or any other cause thing or matter in any manner notwithstanding.
By petition endorsed by the Jcr and sealed with his p.s. and for 6s 8d paid into the hanaper, and of the said date by authority of parliament.
